I replaced and gapped, installed new plugs (Motorcraft SP486)/ installed new Autolite plug wires (Autolite 96139) on my 1994 Ranger with the 4.0 liter engine.
Now the engine starts normally, but I notice a misfire for about the first mile driven, then the misfire is gone. I never had the problem before I changed the wires and plugs.
Also checked all vaacuum hose, no breaks, holes or tears. All connected up.
Could there be crossfiring going on as there are new wires???
Any ideas??
