Pulled the engine this weekend since it was seized up, and now I'm attempting to find out what the problem is.

The torque converter is still bolted up since I cannot turn the crank to get to the bolts. I pulled the oil pan and disconnected the connecting rods, at least the ones I could get to. There is one rod where the nuts cannot be accessed. Of the piston that are disconnected, 4 moving freely in the cylinder, one does not move at all.

My question is, what is my next step? Thanks for the help ahead of time.

i'd just do a rebuild.... thats what i'm doin right now, its not hard... just remember zip loc baggies and an egg crate for organizing... the 18 pack of eggs will hold 6 pushrods on each side, and the rocker arm rail bolts in order as well.

How is your motor suspended? IE how did you get a motor stand to set up with the motor if the torque convertor is still attatched. If the motor is sitting upside down (engine stand flipped over) you should be able to squirt WD40/deisle should also work into the cylinders and let it soak into around the rings/pistons. if you have the motor sitting upside down grab a flash light and inspect the rods and pistons, do you see anything that looks like it would bind the crank? IE bent rod, broken bits. have you tried to JUST loosen off the main bearings to see if they are tooo tight and welded to the crank? I searched out your earlier thread on asking for help about the seized motor thing/how to unstick it,

Ive got the motor supported by some 2x4s and still somewhat suspended by the hoist. You are right I cannot get it on my engine stand since I can't get the torque converter off.

I will pull the heads in the next few days and report back.

Try turning both ways, might have a valve stuck/bent.

I finally got the pistons out, actually had to beat the crap out of 2 of them just to get them to move. I've attached some pictures of the cylinders. There is a rust on the pistons as well. How do I know if I need to bore the engine over or just hone and replace rings? Should I just bring it to a machine shop and have them look at it? Thanks guys for all the help.
