4.0 cylinder heads on 2.9 block

Has anyone sucessfully transplanted a 4.0 litre head on a 2.9 block, I realize the combustion chambers and some of the coolant passages are different. I am building a 2.9 and would like to explore all my options. I need to put in forged pistons anyway so compression ratio should not be a problem. Thanks

why would you swap the heads when you could swap the whole engine

he already has a 2.9 so thats why, mabey someone had a 4.0 that threw a rod or something and thier giving him the heads

im not sure about the block, but i know the intake manifolds for the 2.9 wont fit a 4.0 and vice versa
