4.0, 5-speed?

wow, those are hard to find josh...I would love one those beasts ;)

Yea I had to give my old man a whole 600 dollars for it. There are some downsides to it however...Radiator support is rusted out, there is about a 2" hole in the bed from the friggin bedliner, and the head gasket started leaking externally about 8 years ago. Put some alumaseal in it and hasnt leaked since although I get about 1-2 oz. antifreeze at the bottom of the pan about every 3rd oil change or so. Maybe I should change the heads, gaskets and intake gaskets!! lol Josh

yes they are! I just got mine Monday 94 4.0L 5speed short bed standard cab XLT. It needed a clutch slave cyl, and the body is kinda ugly- but I am not too worried since it will get some prerunner panels when I can afford the long travel! :yahoo:

Well don't bother looking for a 1990 Ranger with a 4.0 and a 5sp.
Because they only made a handful and ALL of those were "non certified"
manufacturer's prototypes.

1991 was the first year that the 4.0 was offered with a 5sp trans.

And yes, they made 5sp explorers too.

I just bought a 1991 4.0 5spd 2wd ext. cab off an old guy down the street for 1,100 bucks! 120,000K and it set forever in his garage covered so its super clean (really good shape) . Future plans are 4" rough country, 31's ,4.10's, lock right, and pre-runner accessories.... any sugestions???

I have a 99 Ranger manual with a 4.0
look for the vin number with an x in it.
