Hello group, I installed a Camper shell on my new truck, and am wondering where to tie in the LED 3rd brake light? I have found some info that says I may need a logic kit, to tie into the left & right side
brake wires. ANy help would be great

thanks

Dave

Third brake lamp is a circuit of its own. It is a light green wire coming out of the stop light switch. There is also a light green/red wire coming off. Don't get them confused. You can locate this wire by following the existing wire inside the cab and find a place to tap off.:)shady

Remove the fuse box under the hood, underneath it there will be a harness with wires comming out of the fire wall (beside the brake booster). There will be one wire that is deadended and has shrink tube on the end of it. That is drectly from the brake switch and is there for just this purpose. Run a wire along the frame and up into the tail lamp housing. If you wire it just into the tail light the 3rd brake light will blink with the signal on.

Good info, dat. Do you know what year this started???:)shady

Can't say for sure but my guess would be in 98 when the body styles changed.
