Ok so I got my brake switch fixed and tightened up two bolts and got rid of the sloppy gear shifter and also got 1st gear back BUT now I just noticed that my third brake light is out, is there a fuse dedicated to just the 3rd brake light? because all other lights are working including my cargo light.

Check for corrosion on the contact inside the socket. Check for a bad ground. Are your other brake lights working?

I have not checked the bulb yet, thought I would see if there was just one fuse for that light BUT since my cargo light is working I am ASSuming it's getting juice,so I will go out and check the bulb, unles there are two seperate circuits inside that housing? one for the cargo light and one for the 3rd brake light.

If the other lights in the same enclosure are working, the bulb is bad. All the lights in that enclosure are fed from the same source and are ground switched.

Ford uses a crappy 912 bulb for the 3rd brake light. Next time you're driving around, look at other Rangers' 3rd brake light. About half of them won't light up. Some are probably burnt out, but a lot of them don't light up because the bulb wiggles around in the socket too much and doesn't touch the metal contacts in the socket. After trying unsuccessfully to fix this by electrical-taping the bulb to the socket, I eventually replaced it with a nice LED 3rd brake light housing.

Yea it was just the bulb and I had forgot that I sealed up that 3rd brake light fixture about 4 years ago with some clear silicone because my head liner used to get wet, anyways it was a real bitch to pry it off with out busting it especially in this cold weather, I went a head and just replaced all 3 bulbs while I was in there.

That's another reason I upgraded to the LED housing. No more leaking even without silicone AND I basically never have to worry about replacing bulbs again.
