Any one know what the saturation point is of a maf on a 3.0? Or alternatively what's the most hp that someone has run with a maf based tune? Odd question but I'm hoping this sub forum may have a better insight than the v6 section.

MAF is air flow so not really horsepower related, directly anyway.
But 1.5 cubic foot per minute of air is required for 1 horsepower, 1.5 CFM = 1HP

If you have 200hp then you need air flow of 300cfm.

I would think the 3.0l MAF opening could support up to 330cfm.

The 4.0l MAF, if I remember correctly did up to 430cfm

For what it's worth, any boosted 3.0 setup that I've seen has required a larger MAF, so there's not a lot of extra room built in to the stock 3.0 MAF. It's pretty close to maxxed out with just the 3.0. The 4.0 SOHC MAF is usually used in it's place. Others have adapted MAFs from Lightnings, various Mustangs, etc too.

Darn, I hoped that wouldn't be the answer. I need to flow about 425cfm so I guess it wont cut it. Thanks.
