i am wanting to put a 393stroker in my 93 ranger. I need to know if the frame can take it. And what it takes to put a mustang front end in it for handling. Also a ford 9 inch in the back and tub it out with 15 wide mt street tires. Want to know if it is posible to put disc brakes all around. Will this work the motor puts out about 450hp and close to 480 tourqe.:headbang:

I found a link that should answer your question:

V-8 Ranger swap info

Its definitely a doable swap. Can the frame take it, I'll say yes to an extent. I have a similar engine that is used pretty hard and my frame isn't totally straght anymore. Some stiffening wouldn't be a bad idea. As far as the mustang front end that will take some work for sure and the 9in would be a regular axle swap. You'll have to most likely have the axle narrowed and a set of shafts made as well as relocate some mounts and modify the driveshaft. In all honesty for that amount of work look to see if you currently have the 8.8 axle, if so keep it. If not it is pretty much a bolt in swap. Or go for the explorer 8.8, it has 31 spline shafts and after 95 has disc brakes, just as strong if not stronger than a small bearing 9in. Welcome to TRS

Does some one make a kit to make the swap easier and is there a kit for the front end. If not what is the handling like with stock. Im good at fabricating stuff i was doing mud bogging but im getting out cause its just to hard on the rig. I want to drive it on the street so if there is kit to do it and will pass it woulb be alot easier then me maken every thing and mabey passing.

If you are looking for an "Easy" swap, pickup a 302, or a stroker 331/347 Version of the 302. Bolt-in swaps are available for your generation of ranger with a 302.

damn.

i wanted to see what a '39 ranger splash looks like.

Ya sorry kinda messed that up a little. i have the motor and i bought the truck like a week ago. So basicly just get the motor mounts from advanced adaptors and give it shit and hope for the best.

shouldn't be too hard a swap.the 351 bolts up pretty much like a 302 would, and even the mustang front shouldn't be much of a challenge.get a kit with tha crossmember as part of it,then cut out the stock ranger crossmember.
mounting the mustang kit to the rails should be pretty straightforward.

sure you can get a "kit" for the front suspension. I'm assuming you mean Mustang II? There are numerous companies that sell MII kits, you tell them the width of your frame, and they'll send you the stuff, but from there is all weld on, nothing really easy about it, You're actually probably best off just cutting your frame off at the firewall and replacing it with 2x4 box steel.

i didn't see this;

but from there is all weld on, nothing really easy about it
as being too much of a problem,because...

Im good at fabricating stuff

and while the kits do require some skill to mount, they are not really rocket science.
i know people replace one end of the frame or the other with box tube all the time, but i think it looks a lot cleaner when looking underneath if you have unmolested frame rails.plus, the kick-up on the front of the frame will help get the front down(though i realise that's not really needed with the mII front end).

31 spline 8.8 is stronger than the 9".

If you really want a stronger rear look at the 9.75 or 10.25".

The big thing with a 9" is that its not a c-clip axle. I know you can convert an 8.8 to non c-clip, but if youre going to narrow an axle anyway (remember he wants to run wide tires) might as well make it a 9".

Guess i missed that quote....if thats the case why did he make this thread, original post almost makes him sound like a newb lol.
