I'm sure I'm the millionth person to ask so I should preface this by saying I'm a mechanic and, while this is my first ranger, I've owned quite a few trucks in my day.
Anyway, I've seen pictures of an 03 FX4 with no lift, fiberglass fenders and 35s. I imagine this is with spacers and/or serious offset. It looks great. I want. What's the least lift I can get away with a given offset and fenders?
I have a 98 regular cab that will get appropriate gears and a welded diff in the short term and a 302 and 8.8 down the road (shopping for donors now). I don't want to have to buy tires twice and eventually want to run 35s and a mid-grade long travel set up.
Thanks.
PS. I don't mind doing wheel bearings every few months if it gets me through in the meantime.
