I am building a 351W EFI out of a 94 f150 and plan on putting it in a ranger. I was wondering what modifications I will need to do other than the heater box, headers, and beating in the firewall a little for the transmission. Does anyone know of a place that makes headers that will clear and what engine mounts are the best to use to bolt on to existing ranger mount without welding. Also, what is a good 5 speed transmission to use in it.

If you're thinking of streeting it at all go for a ZF 5-speed, everything else, just search for...

i got mounts and blocks for the engine from james duff , i only had to drill one hole in the frame, and they have front to back and side to side adjustment

This going in the 2002 I see listed? This would determine a lot. Coil or torson bar suspension? I'd forget about the ZF for the street, it has a first gear of approx 5.13:1 turning it into basically a four speed for normal use. If you're planning on power output, go with either the Tremec 500 or 600 (or a G-Force modified T-5). Header selection probably comes down to custom. Motor mounts also depend on what you're putting this in.

Forget the ZF for the street, has a deep first not to mention you will need to cut a huge hole in the floor for it to fit properly. Give a little info on the truck so we can help you more.

I was thinking 4x4, I'd go T-5 for a 2wd... I didn't know the M50D-R2 bolted up to the 351W... If it does, then that would solve all the problems there...
