thanx man also would the stock exhaust manifolds off a v8 explorer fit with the 351 with no steering issues or frame cutting.

No point swapping in a 351 if you're going to choke it with those manifolds.

im having a hard time finding headers that will work ,i seen advance adapter headers on ebay i was thinking about getting those but dont know if they will fit. my firend tells me his couzin makes custom headers but i bet thats alot of $.

There are no 351 swap headers for Rangers. No matter who's headers you choose, be prepared to tweak em to fit. Same thing goes for a 302 swap. It all has to do with engine postioning. Pick the ones you think will fit the closest and then be prepared to work em and/or move the engine to fit.

Total Performance makes nice 351w Swap headers. They did not need modified at all to work.

I used a set of stock headers of a 5.0l mercury mountaineer on my 95 and it fit fine.

Were the headers you used the cast iron ones or the tube type? I know they both fit but there is a huge difference in the flow. Going to a 355 sure ought to call for a custom set or maybe the Torque Monster headers.
