Getting closer! Need to remove "intermediate steering shaft" on my 03 supercab, to get exhaust manifold in place. Do I have to ruin/cut the rubber boot at bottom of steering shaft and remove boot and unbolt there?
Also, can I pull fuse for elec fuel pump and use my stock mechanical engine mounted fuel pump to pull gas through the factory tank mounted assembly to deliver gas to carb?
Mine is going to be carb and no pcm. Was 3.0 flex fuel automatic, now has 351 Windsor 4 barrel and C-6 from econoline, ready to fix exhaust and move on to radiator fitment. THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP, Big Puddin

Just remove the bolt at the top of the intermediate shaft and slide the shaft down and out of the way. Then, take the fuel pump housing out of the gas tank and remove the pump from the housing. Clamp on some rubber fuel hose long enough to reach the bottom of the tank in its place. Should be fine that way.

Put current fuel line end below gas tank level and see if you can start a siphon, if not then you will need to pull fuel pump.
If you can start a siphon, then it should be OK, but...........if carb seems to run out of fuel during high demand then you will need to pull out the pump as it is limiting flow.

How's the fit of the exhaust manifold on the passgener side? I'm just finishing my swap and had to mod the pasagner header because it dumped right on the frame.

Terrible. I've got 2 sets of shorty mustang headers, set of long tubes, and exhaust manifolds, and I'm getting nowhere. Everything dumps onto pass side frame and nothing clears the 03 intermediate steering shaft on drivers. Ordered header build your own kit off eBay late last night. I had hellacious time getting intermediate steering shaft to telescope. I've ground the living poo off driver exhaust manifold still too tight.
Also considering putting washers between block and motor mount eBay plates to get motor up higher that would probably help some. Taking some time off today to think what I want to do. Adding u joint to steering shaft would help, but would seem that requires new shaft or something. I have a great running 390 I considered and am sure glad I didn't pursue that, as the 351 Windsor is being aggravating enough on exhaust and steering shaft.

I didn't want to do body lift, as mines 2 wheel drive, but thinking of that also

I was also thinking of going back to exhaust manifolds, found these , I know it will be more restrictive but should fit.

Or maybe these from advance adapters,

I also will get a pic of mine on what I did

Here what my pasagener side looks like, I think I can make it work. But I would still like something better

I'm using hedman 88400 headers on my 351 swap. I am using a 91 frame though

Ok, moving on. Scott drake manifolds did the trick. Still going to have to whip the heck out of driver floorpan near where driver side 289 exhaust manifold dumps. Which is about 3 inches right in front of passenger floorpan. Which would be easier to address without engine/trans in way. I don't believe any exhaust man could put a bend this tight on tubing. Or if he could get it to seal and go on straight. Plenty clearance pass side.
Wanted to post for those who helped big thanks until next struggle, Big Puddin'
