Alright so the step dad has a 351m in his old ford, carburated. It has a c6 transmission in it. My truck is a 4x4 1989 ranger with a 2.9L EFI motor and 5 speed transmission. I am planning on just dropping in the 351/c6 combo for now, and leaving the front end alone with all 4x4 components just no front d shaft. Will this cause me any problems ?

Also, is all i need for the 351 swap motor mounts, new transmission cross member, and a new rear d shaft ? My truck has a 2" body lift, 2" suspension blocks up front and rearched rear leafs. What all do i need to do ? Thanks all :headbang:

Sorry, but that 351M is a turd and really too big to fit. Not hardly worth the effort.

Use a windsor motor instead. The 351M is as heavy as a big block but makes small block power and those have bottom end problems. Trust me I've had 5 of them and none are still running.
