351 C swap

:dunno: OK, never had to do anything to mine when I first did my swap. The V6 shaft fit fine. Wasn't until the 331 trashed that shaft that I had to resort to a different driveshaft.

My 1991 V6 Ranger Supercab driveshaft fit both the AOD and the C4 with no mods to the driveshaft itself. All I had to do was move the cross member to the appropriate position for the transmission mount. :icon_pepsi:

That other jackass (blowhard hot_rod) is a diffrent story though :thefinger:. He is a book reader and dreamer who gets help to build his junk. :icon_rofl:

I know that you're convinced that you know everything, but you're not there yet. My dad is a certified mechanic and has built more engines than you have, competed in, well, just a minute, I'm starting to sound like fordmike1. :D
Let me stop there and let you stew in your own juices...

Back to the point, you started this rant by yacking off about an amazing engine that advanced all engine technology, and is an amazing accomplishment for the Ford engineers that developed it. Do you really believe that you know more than the engineers of the era? Even a unique firing order was developed and used in the 351C because it reduces vibration, and was later used in the 5.0 H.O. remember...

351c were cool engines in their day and the best thing to do with it is find and old car or full size truck put it in there and get yourself a 302 to put in your ranger. There is way more support for a windsor engine these days then there ever was for a Cleveland. I my self would use it to anchor my boat at the lake or use it for scrap iron at the local scrap yard. When it comes to doing a V8 Ranger a 302 a way better choise. Hell a GM LS engine is a way better choise and I hate everything GM!!!

I hope that its alot better then the horrible video that you posted on youtube. No shot of your Ranger, crappy incar shots and no sound so no one could hear that anchor run.

I will line up against any anchor powered Ranger that pulls next to my just over stock Explorer 302 powered Ranger. :icon_thumby:

I am not interested in your Internet 351C knowledge, nor do I wish to tolorate your ignorant rants, but they are kind of humerous. :icon_rofl:

:icon_idea: Best advice I can give your whining sissy a$$ is to buy yourself a 351C and learn first hand. :icon_confused: It will require more effort than just reading, and you might have to get your hands a little dirty (prissy wimp), but you just might learn something! :icon_confused: Let me translate, build it and the power will come! :shok:

Well, enough is enough. Have to let you find a new "TEXT RAGE" victim. I hope you and your Ranger have a good year! After all, you can't be all bad, you do own a couple of Mustangs, a V8 Ranger, you race, and you're obviously a Ford man! Out of respect for FORD and THE RANGER STATION, Good luck to you. :icon_cheers:

I like and have respect for all 3 of you guys but can we put this to bed.....please.
If the OP wants a 351C,I say go for it,Its out of the box if you know what I mean.
Kicking each other in the nuts to see which one is still standing is useless and in the end ............everbodys nuts hurt.

Well said and I agree. :icon_cheers:

Hmm, that's not bad. I don't know anything about the 351C, but fordmike is the first guy I've ever heard say anything bad about them :icon_confused:

That's because he is a... (scroll down)

hard-core 302 man! :icon_rofl: I got you fordmike1! I know you scrolled down to read this! :icon_thumby:

There is no bad blood between me and baddad as far as I am concerned and its funny the back and forth between me and him :D. That other jackass (blowhard hot_rod) is a diffrent story though :thefinger:. He is a book reader and dreamer who gets help to build his junk. :icon_rofl:

:yahoo: There's no bad blood between us, I don't even know you. Don't blame me because your boat anchor is a 351C! Just a waste of an amazing engine, but hey, I'm not complaining. You're entitled. If want to dangle a 351C off your anchor chain, knock yourself out! :icon_rofl: Just seems like a terrible waste. :dunno: Got anymore boat anchors you want to get rid of?

there is a member here that goes by gwaii. see what he thinks of that scenario.

i was swapping 302's into ranger long before most people even heard the term internet.

dreams, books, and help from the experienced is how one learns where i am from. the eighties did not afford this instant 30 second genius bullshit.

this is a sad thread.

Post some pics of your build! You're going to have a fast truck when you get it put together!

i was swapping 302's into ranger long before most people even heard the term internet.

you too,huh.

and ya,i gots a lot of books.gots me some edjumacation too.

when i was young i found the old guys and intently studied what they did to cars.i went to custom car shows with a notebook and a pen.when i got a job sweeping floors in a metal shop,i stayed for hours after work practicing welding....then went to school for it,all the time getting tips from the old guys on how to do it better.and that aint my only schooling.

found the best way to trick people into thinking you're smart is to speak only when you know what you're talking about, the rest of the time-shut up and listen.

if i didn't do a project every time someone told me i was an idiot for attempting it,i'd be driving around in a honda civic and wondering why i couldn't do anything.but i don't spend a lot of time telling people what i'm going to do.i get doing it then tell people what i'm up to.....sometimes.

sometimes i just wait till it's done then everyone wonders 'where the hell did that come from'.

as for the 351c-just do it,then take some pics and put a thread together.

my uncle is giving me a 351C out of a mach 1 and i want to put it my 87 ranger 2.0 signal cab 5 speed what do i need to do the swap and what kind of metal work is needed? and how hard is the swap?

How's your build coming along? Do you have any pics or updates for us? :icon_hornsup:
