35" Tires

I have a 2006 Ford Ranger Sport 4.0 V6 and am wondering how much of a suspension lift I would need in order to run 35" tires. I have a 3" body lift now. Also will I have to upgrade my gears in my axles in order to use these tires.
 
you could fit them with the tbars cranked full but you would rub like crazy if you did any off roading at all. you need to buy a super lift or find a used rcd lift
 
I plan on putting a 4" suspension lift on it, I was just wondering If I needed anything more and also will I need to change the gears in my axles to be able to run the 35"s.
 
if you have a 4 inch lift and 3 inch bl you can fit them. do you know what gears you have now?

I would recommend re-gearing to 4.56's or 4.88's with 35's. FX4wannabe13257190 has 4.88's in his and it comes out lowered geared than stock... I know another guy from corvalis with the 4/3 combo and 35's 4.0sohc 5speed and claims the 4.88's feel perfect with it.

So, in closing, I recommend 4.88's

Yeah...to clear 35's comfortably, you'll need the 4" suspension. Plan on regearing. What's your current ratio? I wouldn't run the 35's for long if you're an auto and 3.73. To get geared back to stock, you'll need a 4.66 ratio. 4.56 is geared slightly higher than stock, 4.88 is geared slightly lower than stock. 4.88's and 35's at a constant 75+ mph @ approx 2800 rpm still pulls an average of about 19mpg on road trips. Pretty impressive from a rig that is not considered aerodynamic or small. I like putting it in low and crawling out of my driveway or going up the hill at idle....
 
Yes, 4.88s is what you want with 35" tires (which is the deepest available for '98+ trucks).
 
you should be find for a little while but 4.56s or 4.88s would be better
 
alot run the 4.10s forever and are just fine and dandy. still don't know what trans you got.....but accelerated wear on the clutch and overall a bitch to drive IMO if you're manual and 35's. if auto, clutch pack wear and torque converter accelerated wear. my buddys gave out at about 25k after the 35's went on(truck had like 120k when the 5's were thrown on).

IMO...if you can afford it, do the gear swap. If not, keep up on trans fluid flushes in that auto to nurse it longer. If manual, you REALLY should swap them gears. I know this from experience. I HATED 4.10s and 35's....12-13mpg on the hwy. 4.88's went in, hello 19-20 mpg! plus, it became WAYYYY more driveable in every category.
