Hey, guys

I'm currently doing torsion keys and redoing my rear leafs springs so my truck isn't so pinned with my 700 grizzly in the back however I'm also doing a 3 inch body lift as well my question is can you mount a 33 to a 16x8 rim or atleast a tire in metric size the same as a 33 if so what back spacing will I need. Thanks guys for your replys. I need to get wheels and tires ordered ASAP. I know a 15x8 you can mount 33s I've had them before on my 86 but I found these nice 16x8 rims online any help would be awesome.

You almost have to be a genius to understand that run on sentence. Luckily, I am one.

Yes you can mount a 33 to a 16x8. You will need approx. 3.5" backspacing.

And I would seriously consider throwing those keys away and just cranking your torsion bars. The ride quality will be so much better. Your back and kidneys will thank you.

make sure you don't over crank those key's try to keep it 2.5" or lower haha ( remember guy's 09's sit lower than pre07's)

the size your looking for is 275/85/16 which is 33x11.5x16 .. you will have less issues with those tires than more would with 33x12.5x15 with rubbing... sure you can go 33x12.5x16 if you want, but it will cost more, and won't be as good in the rain or snow, but better in mud and rocks, depending on the mud hahaha.. . take a look at the pro comp steelies, i'm doing the exact same setup as you minus the body lift i got pro comp 16x8 with 4.25" backspacing (fx4 use 4.5" backspacing) but i gotta keep the back spacing closer to stock to avoid rubbing the fenders.
With a body lift you can use more backspacing(or less which ever way you look at it) like Brinker88 mentioned above you can go 3.5-4" backspacing

here are the wheels i just ordered

09 is the shorter keys so going with aftermarket ones will work better. Trick will be NOT to crank the aftermarket keys and to install them the way the instructions say ie marking the bolts removal position.

Bit of a typo they would be 285/75R16's not 275/85's. A 33x12.50R16 works out to a pair of 305/75R16's just BTW. Treadwright carries both of those sizes for very good prices.
