Are the wheels an issue for 31x10.50R15 tires? I was thinking of going up to that size when I put some 2" lift coils in the front and I figure I'll just trim the fenders if they're a little too big.

So, I suppose I have the following questions.
1) Will the tires mount on these wheels okay?

2) Will those tires on stock wheels cause a problem for steering?

3) If so, is there a way to adjust steering stops?

Thanks.

well 2 inches might be enough i think first gens are alittle lower than second and 3rds and it isnt that the steering will be off but there is a definate possibility that the tires will hit the frame or swaybar cause they have 4.5 inches of backspacing. It isnt for sure though cause it works fine for some people and rubs for others. if it does rub you need rims with 3.75in of backspacing. otherwise have at her.

i'm also puttin 31's on my stock wheels, gonna find some used tires from craiglists and test them first. if i dont have any problems i'm gonna keep them (i like the way the stock wheels look) if they rub, i'm just gonna buy new wheels when i get new tires

Ive been running 31x 10.50 goodyears on my stock 15x7 outlaw 2's now for a long time, their almost bald now. No issues yet.

wish mine had come stock with those wheels! lol :icon_hornsup:

I gotta set of the silver black wheels that came on hte 83-86 rbvs mostly bronco 2's. They are in my photos. There were measured at 15x6.5. I have 31.10.50's and they fit great, I have a 93 ranger with no lift and the tires clear well. But the older rangers I believe need at least the 2 inches. R1Hatman, has the best setup right now for factory truck with 31's -- f150 coils, and 2 inch drop shackles, he clears 31.s with room to flex a little.

I used my stock rims and just got 31 BFGs yesterday and they fit just fine. I do got a 2"spacer lift up front tho. but other than that , GOLDEN

2002 edge stock rims

I found a shop that is going to mount 31/10.50r15's on my stock wheels & crank the torsions & align.I'm doing this tomorrow.I hope it works ok.Discount tire told me that this was the largest tire I could use.I hope I got good info. The tires were given to me & I need tires.I'm more concerned with gas mileage & my 3.0 having enough power to climb a hill on the freeway @75.

here's mine....on stock wheels

31x10.5's mtd on stock wheels...

wrangler mtr's w kevlar...i like the look...and I'm in the process of maybe a 1-2 inch lift on the front..there is a slight rub on inner fender in a turn..and then it does hit the torsion bar ...but look great...
