Hey guys, i just dropped the motor off at the machine shop to get some work done but im wondering what c4 i should get. What flexplate, torque converter, bellhousing? The motor is a 94' 302 ho and its balanced at 50 oz

Not to oversimplify it, but you ant a 50oz flexplate and a C4 with a Windsor belhousing, and a converter that stalls where you want it with your expected horsepower...

I will make just one note I learned the hard way. I was originally going to put an AOD tranny in my build but the owner of the tranny shop said that it is hard to get the vacumm adjustment right and would burn it out quickly. :icon_twisted: Not really sure if he was blowing smoke up my skirt but I bowed to his expertise and went with the C4. He set me up a C4 and I found the Flex plat I had was a 164 tooth and the bell housing was for a 154 tooth so I had to get a new flex plate. Long and short make sure your bell housing and flex plate match!:icon_cheers:

No vacuum requirement for an AOD, must have been talking about the kick down. If it's not set right, it will burn it up pretty quick. Running an AOD in mine, love the overdrive. But I'd like to go with a manual some day.

I would have liked to have overdrive, one of the reasons I wanted to stick with the AOD. If I ever get this thing running I will get to see how it goes down the highway. The rear end is geared down just a little to.

It's not kickdown either..............................The tricky part is the Throttle Valve cable adjustment.:D
