302 Ranger conversion motor mounts ?

Those mounts are NOT bolt on. I just tried them. You have to drill new mount holes and you have to slot the holes.

James Duff has v8 swap motor mounts.

Thanks 85_Ranger . That link was very helpful . So the 1984-1993 Ford MUSTANG 5.0 Convertible Motor Mounts if switched around are a direct bolt up ? Why doesn't everyone use these then ? I just wanna know before I buy anything .

Teddyzee did, I did and dangerranger did. Teddyzee must have done better than danger and I did at slotting it though.

Like this, except I think that is a Mustang:

First used the standard 4.0l mounts but to much engine movement to my liking
Then built my own.

Ahhh I would gladly buy some mounts from you if built more than one ?
lol

A couple more points of interest.
In my reading, typical Mustang mounts have the oil pan sitting close to the crossmember on 4x4 trucks. Not an issue with '83 to '97 2wd Rangers.

Possible ways to remedy this are:
-shim the engine upward slightly (large washer on thew stud between the mount and crossmember)
-the use of Prothane mounts. It's commonly known in the Mustang world that Prothane mounts are slightly taller (3/4") than the vert mounts. (Energy Suspension mounts mimic the height of the lower vert mounts)

Some of the 4x4 guys may be able to add is that much clearance would allow the drain plug to be removed.

BTW, the photo I posted of the cross member slot was from a Mark VII, same idea as the Mustang, same motor mount.

If 4x4 and you are ttb, mint the engine up as high as you can to help with the drain plig clearance. Best way is to do the plates mount or use washers. My engine has settled over an inch since my swap over a year ago. Luckily I'm SASed so I cut the ttb mount out of the way.

I solved the problem with a Canton oil pan and a purpose build removable cross member .
