Anybody know whats the best radiator to get, which one will fit...im sure some cuttin will be required but i just tryin to get an idea of which radiator to use....its slightly modified 302 in a 88 ranger....not too much done other than ported e7's and a comp cam with 1.6 rr's

I've read that 4.0 rads. work but have no expience with them. I've run a griffin 22x19 with my old 306 fit between the frame rails but at higger rpms (3500+) rad. was not wide enough to keep it cool. Now i'm useing a griffin 16x31 with my 347 has no problem keeping the temp down never gets over 180 on 100 degree days. Had to make the opening in the core support about 6" wider.

i have a 4.0L radiator in my 84....it's drops right in when you cut the 2 bottom posts off...clearence all around...making the hose's fit is a bit of a struggle...and it does ok in cooling. we're seeing a steady 205* water temp...would like lower but it will do. the motor is similar to your's with high flow water pump.
