302 in Mazda

I've a 5.0 in my Ranger and the best MPG i can get it's around 15 MPG. But now it's more like 8-9 MPG, city driving and pedal to the floor :). You have to do the swap.... you will like it. I've put a 5.0 EFI in my rusty 83 Ranger, and you can't imagine the fun i have when i run throught some Civic/neon/sunfire, etc racer at the red light.:3gears:

definatly no hard fast rule on mpg.

if it is your only vehicle its not the most practical thing to do, but with it lifted and 33eed already practicality may not be an issue.

is it paid off? if its paid off or close then i would definatly consider it. though a 5.3 would be my likely choice. unless your staying 2wd...then 4.8 or 302 could be fine.
