hello, i just started getting into my first project, and was wondering about the heads that are currently on the engine im going to be dropping into my ranger. the codng says 302 C9TE; they look to be in pretty good shape, but im wondering what you guys think. it also is looking like this engine is going to get a rebuild so im going to clean'er up and get some fresh parts, nothing too crazy though. are these heads worth putting back on this engine, or should i look into getting something alittle better.

i would look for some e7 or some aftermarket heads, they will be worlds better esp if u are doing a rebuild

Well, with that number they were first designed for a truck but were used in a lot of different applications, including Mustangs. Had the 58cc chambers and 1.76/1.45" valves. A lot of the early 289/302 blocks will have "O" in the third digit of hte casting number indicating a Fairlane/Torino but got used every where. There are always better part but always at a cost. His buget but I know we all could make him broke in a hurry.
