3 inch body lift vs 2 inch body lift

i want to do a cheap lift for my ranger. and the only thing i can think of is to do either a 3 inch or a 2 inch body lift. the thing is though that the 2 inch body lift is more expensive by about 50 bucks. is this because it is better for my truck?

if you look at jamesduff.com they have a 2" for about the same price as the usual 3".

I figure the price difference is because 3" is far more popular. I prefer 2" myself, less of a body gap to deal with.

and if i wanted to do a suspension lift, would it be a bad idea to do it if i have an ibeam?

definitely not. Plenty of lifted I beam suspensions out there...since all Rangers were twin beam suspension from 83-97.

Most will agree that while not as popular and maybe a little less capable than a solid front axle, the twin beam suspension is leagues ahead of a modern independent front.

Kind of like left-handed guitars. Less popular aand way more expensive usually. Except for Yamaha who sometimes is cheaper..

all my money got spent after christmas so now i think im gunna just start savin up to buy a 4 inch suspension lift. would be a lot better overall i think. may eventually put on a 2 inch body lift though. want to run 32 or 33s. hopefully the 2.9 can turn em!

don't forget the other part to "turn em" is your gear ratios in your axles. i'm going to 4.56's this spring and running 31" tires, with my 2.8. should get better use of 5th gear and hopefully pick up another 1-2 mpg.
