3.0L Eng Removal Ford Taurus

Is there any way to remove the engine from a 99 Ford Taurus out of the top without taking more than just the engine and accessories out?

My friend is working on removing an engine from a 1999 Mercury Sable GS 3.0. He told me he has plenty of instructions online for dropping the engine but he rather lift it...

Any advice or tips are more than welcomed and I will definitely forward them to him, it'll help a lot!

It's easy, I got the long block I just rebuilt out of a Taurus. Take a sawzall to cut the exhaust if you wanna make it even easier. You will have to lift it a few inches and then slide it to the left so the torque converter will clear the trans. The ONLY hangup I had was that the axle was bolted to the back of the block and I battled that for about a minute before I realized it. All in all it took about an hour and a half on a lazy Sunday at the JY to pull it.

Dang, that makes it sound easy lol. So u just unbolted the trans and boom? (other than the obvious bits and pieces of course)

BTW, just to make sure, what did you use as your lifting point?

4 points, the end of each head. And yes, it is the easiest motor I have ever worked on, I have a feeling I will always have this truck considering how user friendly it is.
