I hope this is the right section so here goes:

So Im looking into buying a fully done Ranger prerunner thats fully caged and has a H&M LT kit and LT set up in the rear. Im planning on taking it to off road racing series and competing and using it as a toy out in Ocotillo. I just wanted to know if you guys knew of some good modification sites for them? The only downside to the one Im picking up is its a 3.0. I wish it had the 4.0 but the deal on this one is too good to pass up. I would do a 5.0 swap but I still need it to be street legal in CA.

There is a Prerunner section on this site just for real Prerunners, not just lifted trucks. Lots of info and photos. Check it out.

mine has a 3.0, not too too bad. but i do wish it had more power. then i drove my friends truck with a ohc 4.0, and there really wasnt that much of a difference except in lower rpm. you probably wont win a lot of races with a 3.0.... its power is kinda comparable to a higher powered 4cyl. there isnt that much cheap stuff to ad more power, you could swap to a 4.0 sohc, they had over 200hp, thats like 40hp more than the 4.0ohc and about 50something more than a 3.0 with way more torque. probably the cheapest and easiest.
