3.0 wont run

i have a 94 3.0 with 135,000 on it went from full rpm to nothing wont restart and distributor is not turning any help would be appriciated been told to check dist gear cam shft and timing chain dont know where to start first.also is the 3.0 a zero clearance motor? and if the timing chain can u do the job with motor in the truck

If the distributor isn't turning, I'd check it first. See if the gear sheared off. If it sheared off, then nothing was turning the oil pump. NOT GOOD.

it was goin good then shut down like someone tuned off key

But the engine still cranks over right? It is not locked up? You have to pull the distributor out and the gear is at the bottom of the distributor shaft.

yup still cranks over just wont catch

good lookin out stripped 1/4 of the teeth off the distrubitor gear and all others were well worn just replace distrubitor runnin perfect now
