3.0 wont run.

hello,
i have a 1994 ranger 3.0 4x4. i pulled the motor it had a bent rod. got her all in and it started up great ( never put bolt in for disturber and timing jumped) i got it time right now, but when you turn the key on run, and turn the disturber cap ( sounds like some thing shortin out??) the fuel pump kicks on and i hear some cliking. and the coil will spark. need my truck for work monday. anyhelp would be great.

initial guess, distributor was not all the way "seated" when you started engine. and the oil pump drive shaft came loose or was "wedged" in distributor and caused the dist shaft to destroy electronics, like i said "guess"
