im new here and have some questions about motor swaps im considering. i have a 91 stx ranger with a blown 3.0 and am considering putting in a 4.0seeing how im getting the motor, computer and harness for $150. my question is how involved is it in making the swap from the 3.0 to the 4.0 wiring harness and motor or is this more of a headache then i think it is? any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Did someone previously swap a 3.0L into your truck?

Edit: oops, I was thinking 93 was the debute of the 3.0L.

The only other big item should be the transmission. Depending on how hard you use it, you might want to eventually swap out for an 8.8 axle if it still has the 7.5.

You'd need a tranny.
