3.0 to 4.0 swap, is it a bolt in?

I have a tired 3.0 in a 93 ranger. Next week at the insurance auction there is a 2003 with a 4.0 coming through , and also a 97 with a 3.0L coming through and i would like to get one for the engine. I would like the 4.0 but if it is a pain then I will try for the 3.0. Any words of wisdom on the 4.0 swap ? thanks alot, Mike

Its doable, but not an easy swap. everything the engine touches has to be changed. the tranny is different. the engine harness is different. The 2003 might even be a SOHC.
