This came out of my 87 2.9L ranger. Long story short the little ground wire fell off the negative battery cable and killed the truck... I thought it was just the fuel pumps not turning on. Traced it to the ECC being the ground off the relay. So I though it was a bad ECC. Pulled it to find it was from the Taurus and put one in from a B2. I lost the hesitation problem at high rpm's I thought was a timing issue. Hopefully my gas mileage goes, way up 13 mpg is ridiculous

Probably the same pinout on both, or close enough to make it run.

So far it runs a lot smoother, has more power and does run like crap cold.... Exhaust doesn't smell as rich either. Definitely a different map ha ha

LOL I bought an 87 bronco II for a 4.0 swap, someone posted they needed a ecc for a manual 2.9 from an 87 dug out what I had pulled from the bronco and it was tagged a taurus, cant remember if it was a 3.0 or 3.8, guess it happens more than once.

That's weird.... Must be mapped the same but mine ran a little off and it looked like someone had been in there before cuz the little metal shield on the bottom corner was gone
