3.0 swap

hey guys, sorry if something like this has already been asked, but will i have any problems bolting up a 2004 3.0 automatic, in place of my 3.0 with a manual behind it. i would like to keep the manual tranny. any issues with computers, mounts, ect? Thank you

Yes, you need a automatic's computer. Then you need to get a key from ford that will work with that computer+your ignition. I'm sure the transfer cases are different some how (better search on that) and perhaps drive shaft lengths? Why would you want a 3.0 with an auto anyway?

shouldnt have a problem just use your 3.0 harness and change sensor/fuel rails as need and the manual tranny will bolt up

also might have to use your oil pan

I swear when I read that you did not say you wanted to keep the manual tranny! My bad. Like Alaskin said, should work fine. Do you have a whole donor vehicle? You will need a few things, like a neutral safety switch, pedals, etc...

no i don't have the whole vehicle. black2000ranger, i dont understand why i would need stuff like the neutral safety switch and pedals when i have a manual now, and want to keep the manual. im just curious on if the motors will swap over easily. im sorry if i didn't make this clear. im just worried about putting the newer engine that was flex fuel capable, int he place of my old blown one.
