3.0 seems to run rich and rough

Yeah I appreciate everyone's input. I've been putting off taking it anywhere because it must be trailered. Will the dealership be able to pinpoint or narrow it down enough while sitting on the trailer that I could just bring it back home and do whatever is necessary?

as long as the battery is charged and they can start it then yes, they should be able to datastream and tell you what the computer is seeing with it on the trailer.

Well if it helps anyone it turned out to be a MAF sensor, I grabbed one from the junkyard after checking its voltage and finding it way out of spec. and put in some new spark plugs (the other ones were fouled from the fuel) and it is running great.

usually MAF going bad won't allow the motor to rev more than 2200 rpm. at least thats what I thought, maybe different on the ranger.

:icon_thumby: on getting it running...you take it to the dealer and they tell you it was the maf, or did you test it on your own?

I have a friend who had access to some sort of scan tool that gave me voltage readouts at all my sensors and whatnot, I don't remember what kind it was.
