My older brother has a '99 ranger w/a 3.0 v6. It would run hot and the heat would get cold, then it would return to normal. He has replaced the tstat, radiator cap, and radiator hoses. We noticed today that the new hoses are collapsing. Has anyone else had this problem and what was done to repair it?

I have this problem now. I have not replace anything yet. Don't have a clue/

maybe the heater hoses or heater core is clogged or becoming clogged thats why it varies?? let me know what you find.

when mine was doing that, it was running hot too. found the radiator was not circullating enough. had to replace the radiator.
