3.0 on 93

i had a rough idle and a decent amount of shake on my 03 ranger. but when i ran 93 it shook less and got better mpg could running93 hurt my truck?

Maybe you have built up deposits in your engine. That could cause a pinging. 93 may temporarily make it stop. Could also be a timing issue. Could be lots of things. Is your truck idling too low?

Also a vacuum leak or exhaust leak that throws off the computer and messes up the timing.

You shouldn't have to up the octane unless you are pinging or getting spark knock. Which indicate a series of possible issues.

naw no pining no knock no spark problems no c.e.l just a bit of shake at idel more times than others. and it just seems to run a little somother on 93 and the best on 89 it runs fine tho on 87.
