I did the throttle cable mod on my 2.3 and lost MPG. lol, i guess i was pretty light on the throttle before.

Probably not, though it's easy to check for.


My 98 will get full throttle as is.

I did it to my 2006 Ranger a few days after I bought it. It had only 12,000 miles on it at the time. It made a HUGE difference in throttle response. I did it to my '94 Explorer with over 130k miles and it improved a little, but not nearly as much as the Ranger.

A K&N air filter makes a little bit of a difference. The truck seems to breathe easier.

This is the kit I used for my throttle linkage. http://www.autozone.com/R,NONAPP717...uctDetail/shopping/accessoryProductDetail.htm Comming right off the pedal to the throttle body. Clean look, adjustable, and best of all works better then stock and only took like 10 minutes total to do from scratch lol.

That link took me to a NOS pipe fitting.

I'd be interested in getting the part number, description and photos to make a tech page for others to use. Can you post all that?

The best place to start is at the top of the page. Go all the way up, just below the TRS logo at the top is a box that says"technical library". Click there then go to 3.0, all your problems will be solved.

i found one the other day for 4000 dollars i guess some people still got some laying around rusting, i guess the easiest option would be to get a Vortech S/C and fab it i dont think that would be to hard, the hardest thing would be mounting it and hooking it up to the belt system

i checked my throttle cable and found out to my surprise there actually was slack in it
