2wd transfer case

So I have been thinking about getting a 4.10 rear end for my 2.3 2wd just to give her some more grunt then I had an idea if I put a transfer case in my 2wd when put in 4/2 low wouldnt it act like i had a lower rear end. Then I had another thought would it be possible to have a t case that would overdrive in high and underdrive in low so that I could overdrive normally and get Better mpg but when i needed to pull something put it in 2 low is any of this possible thanks in advance

well you'll also need a 4wd version of the transmission, since a 2wd trans is different from the 4wd one. low range is much too low to drive on the street with unless your going through town and arent going over 35 mph. ive done it, had a fully loaded box trailer with wood in it. the transfer case is 1:1 direct drive in high range, no overdrive. used to be a company that made a auxillary overdrive/underdrive transmission that went behind the factory trans, not sure if they ever made anything for the ranger chassis or if they even exist anymore, think the name was "gear vendors" i recall seeing stuff for full-size pickups, but its been a long, long time ago. id try the 4:10 rear end ratio to see how it does, even at that, a 2.3 only has so much to give.

I looked at the gear vendors stuff they don't support the ranger trans is it possible to regear the ranger transfer case

No company has a regear kit for our 1354 transfercases (that I know of) because this would require a custom cut gear set of planetary's,
