2wd to 4wd

i have a 90 ranger that is 2wd, i also have a 88 4wd, the question i have can i put all the 88 4wd stuff under the 90 2wd. both trucks have the same motor. the only diff between the 2 trucks is one is long bed and the other is not. thanks for any info

No, you cannot. The engine crossmembers are different between 4x4 and 2wd frames.
 
The cross-members can be switched, but it's not easy. At all.
 
Take the 2wd cab and put it on the 4wd frame. Use the 4wd's bed.

The front ends are different but only cosmetically, they're exactly the same as far as the frame is concerned.
 
might have to do that, will all the wirring off the 90 run the 88 fuel pump etc. i have to change motors becouse the 88 knocks.

I'm 95% certain it should. But I can't guarantee it will be EXACTLY the same (never messed with that particular vintage). Worst case scenario, switch the fuel pumps.
