I have some questions some of you might be able to answer for me. I have the 6" SJ kit in the front of my truck, and I have 2" of steel washers under the springs. With the weight of my winch and bumper, the front end sags pretty bad still, and there's a very noticeable rake on my truck.

Here's a theoretical fix. I was thinking of getting the 8" SJ Softride springs for the front, and then welding some extensions to the axle pivot brackets to match the 2", so my camber is not unfixable. I was hoping I could leave the radius arm brackets be. Would this f' up my caster too much? The truck isn't my DD, it only sees the road if I'm pulling my boat or going to a wheeling spot. Don't know much about caster, other than 3*-7* is desired. I want more lift in the front because sometimes it bottoms out when I go over rough terrain pretty fast, and I would like more room for the tires (maybe a little flex, too).

Good idea? Bad idea? Just kicking it around in my head. :icon_idea:

Oh, I have the 6" SJ leaves and Belltech shackles in the back, giving about 8" lift for the rear.

The 8" SJ coils may work as it is without having to drop the pivots any lower if you lose the washers. Dropping the pivots (assuming you're keeping the washers) will have some steering ramifications though, you'll need to upgrade to a bigger pitman arm or a centerlink steering setup. I don't believe there'll be enough range to set the caster properly if you go that much higher either.

sorry dont mean to jack your thread but how much lift can i put in the front of a 88 ranger without getting new shocks? thanks
