2WD Budget Build......

Actual 4" lift won't be coming for awhile. Stereo pics are on camera's memory card. Got a different pair of lights now, still Wally World specials. However, these have a better light pattern.

When you do the 31's dont forget the gears. When I was looking for my 4.10s the best price I found was at AmericanMuscle.com. I got Ford Racing gears with a Motive install kit for $160 I think. Remember to get the master install kit WITH BEARINGS. Its best to just replace the bearings while you're in there.

I was thinking of doing that exactly. I am going to need it for the speedo. Without regearing, I would need a speedo gear that Ford does not make. And plus, I was also thinking of adding limited slip or a locker at that time too, because of the snow in the winter time. I did have a question though, could I do the re-gear now and then get tires? I'm trying to wait until Nov. to get new tires, the Wally World tires I have are getting worn down really fast. But if that does not happen, I can use my dad's GPS to track speed for a while until I can get some gears.

I also fixed my console, here are some pics of how I did it:

I was originally going to use magnets glued to the cover and underneath like so:

That did not work out so great, so I followed this: http://www.therangerstation.com/Magazine/Summer2010/ranger_console_fix.htm and flipped one of my springs around to keep the cover closed.

Works great, a tip though for people who want to do this, use a pair of vice grips to clamp on the spring and turn it. Have another person hold the vice grips while you are turning the spring the rest of the way with the needle nose pliers and once you get the spring in place push the hinge rod back into place.

Reason why I replaced the darn thing was that the supply line off the sending unit was leaking. So I just decided to replace the whole thing. I had to replace the fittings too, they did not come apart really nice.

Installed a Harbor Freight vacuum gauge, it was on clearance for $10. :yahoo:

And here it is running. The gauge is dead on with my Mityvac, so I very satisfied with it. I'm looking to get a oil pressure gauge next. :icon_thumby:

I have to get the stereo pics off the desktop, that will come later tonight. So hold on.

That vacuum gauge is pretty nice looking there

My truck's been dripping oil the the ground for the past few months. Tonight I cleaned the engine off after work. Drove it home, did not see any fresh oil leaks. I'm beginning to think that my valve cover leak may be getting worse and not my rear main seal as I thought before.

Cool gauge!
im thinking about gettin an oil pressure one for mine.

I hope u fix the leaks soon man.

I kind of wanna fix the leaks. But I found a 95 at the local Ford dealership with half as many miles as mine and less rust. I'm really wanting that truck instead. That's probably why mine is acting up. :icon_rofl:
