future plan for my ranger, after buying a new f.150 ot f.250, involve putting everything mechanical onto a new buggy frame to hunt off of, and go through lots of mud.:icon_hornsup:
would it be possible to take an axle off a 4wd ranger, of the same year and model, swap it out w/ mine, add a transfer case and driveshaft?
remember i plan to put everything on a new frame so if this could be done, the frame, body or whatever could revolve around it.

thanks:icon_thumby:

So you want to put a D35 front beams on your 2wd Ranger? It CAN be done, but it's not worth it... Everything from the 2wd beams up (yes, that includes your engine) has to be pulled and the front crossmember changed out for a 4wd one... If you are talking about building a buggy that's going to use the TTB front suspension, I guess it would be possible... I don't see the point though really, if I'm going to build something, I'd either do a solid axle or a long travel four wheel independent suspension... Even though TTB has the best of both worlds (decent articulation, decent ride quality) it also has the worst of each (not that great articulation or ride quality compared to the better one)... Just my opinion though...

I have converted my 94' ranger to 4wd with ttb axle. It is not an easy project. I did not change out the crossmember. Mine is kind of rigged but it is still strong. I kept the 2wd crossmember in and just noched it so the front diff would have clearance. I can post pictures of it if you want them, but I would advise just buying a 4wd truck it would be alot easier.
