Hey has anyone tried to take a 3rd gen ranger from end and fab it to work on a 2nd gen? Mainly just the lights and grill.

Im doing the research because im interested in swapping out some body parts from different Gens of rangers. I was looking into a FX4 step side box wondering if it would mount on my frame. Im wondering if Dodge ram 1500 rear shocks would work on my 2nd gen. I found a nice set of rough country's in the auto wrecker for $20 a piece on a dodge.

Let me know, Thanks guys

It will look goofy for sure. Pull your rear shocks, measure them extended and collapsed, and do the same to the dodge. If their within a coupl inches, go for it.

The bed will bolt up provided you have a shortbox, and while the bodylines are in the same place it just plane won't look right. It is more rounded than the rest of your truck.

You can get fiberglass front ends that look like a newer truck that would go right on yours, but they have huge fender flares.
