I notice on the U.S. Ford site you can customize the 2009 Ranger with a 2dr or a 4dr Supercab. Does this mean some supercabs don't have those little back-hinged doors? I've never seen any newer supercabs w/o the back doors up here in canada.

Yeah my 05 has no rear doors.

yeah, its always been an option on most models since 1998... the package (387a) my 2002 XLT has made the doors inclusive, but that package was optional.

Yep, I am very sad I don't have them on my 98. I do not think it is an option on the 4 cycl engines. I kind of have wanted to do a cab swap but think it is really to much work for the cost/time. I will just buy 4dr next time.

On my model year, I believe that they were standard on all extended cab models - wasn't aware that they have become an option. I guess that the extra door models will cost more - only makes sense, since it would cost more to make and install the doors.

In terms of convenience, I think that they would win hands down - they make accessibility to the rear area that much better. I can't imagine the difficulty in getting into the back without the two extra doors, Even with the two extra doors, accessiblity isn't the greatest.

When I ordered my old 99 Ranger they were an option. Then I think for a few years they were standard like on my 02. Then they made some without the extra doors to help sell them for cheap, my cousin got one like that.

They were/and still are optional in the states. $500 if I remember correctly. Sometimes included in another package tho. Can't tell you about Canada cause I wouldn't have a clue. I agree, going without would SUCK.

Very true. I have a 4 door version, my uncle has a 2 door, he wishes he owned my truck.

The 2 extra doors keep you from fiddling with the seats everytime you want to put something back there.
