Working on a side project and kinda hit a snag.

I had never really paid attention before but the mounting base on a my 2bbl intake makes the carb slant ahead to account for driveline angle I suppose. Anybody know of a spacer that would make the carb level to the rest of the engine, like for a boat or power unit or something?

I am making an end table out of an old 289 and the plan is to sandwich the glass top between the intake and carb and then have it rest on the valve covers for support. I could probably use washers but I didn't know of something was out there that would provide more support and would fully be level.

Since cars and boats all change angles, within reason, the angle of the carb baseplate wouldn't matter.
I have never seen one.

For your application I would just get a black rubber mat, i.e. front door mat, or rubber tile mat, and cut "squares" the size of the base, to layer it to the right level, even use one layer under the carb to bolt it down holding the glass.

You could also get one made at a CNC shop out of aluminum stock, shouldn't be too expensive, take them an old gasket for the base size and 4 mounting hole positions, and the height at each end of the carb you will need to make it level, they won't need to cut out the center hole.
You could drill the 4 holes as well so save a little on that.

You could use a block of wood, shouldn't take long with a hand saw and sander.
