28 and 31 spline carrier differences?

Are there any carrier differences between a 28 and 31 spline 8.8? I'm swapping my 5.13's to a 31 spline 8.8 and I'm hoping to get away with not swapping carriers. Its not a big deal if I have too.

I think the only difference is the cross pin diameter?

Ok I just measured my cross pin diameter on my 31 spline and its 7/8" compared to my 28 spline which is 3/4". Btw my 31 spline is a full size axle (f-150) and my 28 spline is a Ranger axle. Looks like I'm swapping carriers.

Yes, the carriers are different and need to be swapped.

Yeah I know that. Thats why I have a new locker and the axle shafts for the 31 spline.
