So for the past little while, I've been thinking about moving from the stock 255-70R16's to something a little bigger, 265-75R16 on a 16x8 rim.
Long story short, I could not find a straight answer about whether or not the 265s would properly fit my truck. Some people said it would, but they had a lift, others said it wouldn't. Basically, never a straight answer.
After much hemming and hawing, I took a chance and got the bigger tires.
Here's the low-down on what I've figured out:
265/75R16's on 16x8 rims WILL FIT a STOCK 2008 Ford Ranger Sport 4x4 without rubbing on lock to lock steering.
There.
As for my 2-cents on the "conversion", I found the truck is noticeably taller, but with no real change in handling. I did notice a slight increase in fuel consumption (but this would perhaps be due to the knobbier tires I chose as compared to the stock tires).
So there you have it, hopefully this will help someone. I know it would have helped me.
Cheers
