260,000 mile Ranger Maintenance

Looks like it. It had a separate line for the 5QTS of oil and filter.

If I am not mistaken that truck should have ATF in the trans whether it is automatic or manual.

Sure it wasn't in the rear axle?

Trying to change the oil in-between working at the office. Looks like this seal is coming out!

Oil change done. Trying to flush coolant now. As I remember the temp gauge never worked. Should I try an fix it or go after market to a true reading?

I've read that that front part of the oil pan gasket is a common problem. Mine is squeezing out about the same amount, but I'm not getting any leakage there yet.

Aftermarket temperature gauge is easy.

I think the cooling system is shot. I could not even flush it out. I will be buying the radiator, thermostat and heater core for next week. Do I have to remove the fan to get to remove the radiator?

No, just remove the shroud and let it sit on the fan while you remove the radiator. Make sure it doesn't shift before you install a new radiator.

How were you trying to flush it?

Opened the valve on bottom, nothing. Open cap, nothing but rust stains. Tried poring water in top with valve open but only a splash went in before it flowed back out.

Passenger rear brake line is leaking badly, so I have no brakes at all. Going to try and remove it and get a new one made.

Removing the lower Radiator hose makes a better drain.

I used a Prestone flush and fill kit and a bottle of their flushing fluid. Just follow the directions. If you remove the radiator, you can use the garden hose to flush it both directions.

Also, don't forget to flush all the sediment out of the overflow reservoir. That's pretty easy to remove and wash out.

I put a new radiator and thermostat in this today during work. I will try and flush and fill it on Monday after I get the heater core in.
