Hey guys i need some help i just bought two 16x8 cragar D window rims with 5" backspacing 0 offset, it has about 3.5" from the rim lip to the leaf spring if needed i might use spacers the question in can i run 255/50R16? i want to keep the speedometer the same that seems to do it according to tire calculators, for the front i dont want to go as wide i will buy 16x7 4" backspace 0 offset, i was thinking on running 235's but it could rub as the toe is off right now and 225 rubs a little so i was thinking on keeping 225 and use something like a 225/60R16 again to keep them the same overall size as stock ordo front tires affect speedometer reading? i know the sensor is in the diff but will it affect the over all vehicle speed? and does this set up sound ok? will the tire sizes work? any help is appreciated!
Forgot to mention its 2wd single cab lowered 3/4

255/50R16s should fit fine on those wheels - I have about 3.5" from spring to rim with my stock rims. There wouldn't be any tire interference using my daughter's 4x2 Splash as reference (my and my son's trucks are 4x4s so I can't give good reference for styleside, other than 10.5" width fits within fenders...)
235/60R15s came stock from factory on 'Splash', so 225/60R16s should fit. But I think they would make truck look a little strange as the fronts would be bigger than rears.

I think I would want 225/55R16s, for just a trace of rake. (personal preference.) Finding matching tires in those sizes might be more challenging but tirerack has BFGoodrich's in both sizes...

Front tire size has NO affect on speedometer readings 'cause as you note; sensor is in rear.

Hope this helps; Let us know how it turns out (pictures).

I had 255/55-16 rears and 235/60-16 fronts on 16x8 Mustang Cobra stock rims on my 1994 2wd and they fit fine.

5mm spacers on the fronts so the plastic Center caps would clear the grease caps on the front bearings.

Truck was not lowered, tires did not rub.
Speedo was out by about 3% which was basically nothing.
