I may regret asking this......

TRS will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2024. Where would you like to see TRS go from here? What would you like to see us do? How can we grow? How can we make TRS better?

Personally i think we need an entire page (aka shrine) dedicated to the greatness of the 2.9L with a link to said page stickied to the top of every forum for easy access.

Just kidding.

In my real opinion the site is great as is. Just set the cruise and let it roll.

Athough i was thinking the other day i do miss the TRS chat room we used to have back in the YaBb days. With the scheduled group chat at 8pm on whatever day it was (tuesday maybe?)...but i dont know if actual chat rooms even exist anymore.

I love the site. It's helped me through many issues and upgrades. I think the only thing it laxking it more meet and greets. I know we have several Jeep and Toyota meets around here. They have sponsors and raffles that draw in the crowds. Maybe reach out to the moderators and host Ford or Ranger only meet and greets. We have several non-branded meets as well. Skottles and Bottles is at a 4wd Parts in Georgia. 3 years ago he had like 15 rigs show up. He does 1 every month. This last month there were like hundreds of cars and trucks. I see tons of Rangers from all generations here locally. I always talk to them if I can and promote the site. But I think a meet and greet with some free stickers or something would be cool. Cars and Coffee here athe the Speedway has also grown fairly large.

I have tried a couple times to do more local meets around here. I haven't given up. But I'm not quite sure what would entice people to give up a bit of their time to socialize with other Ranger owners.

The only other thing I really think we need, Jim has been trying to encourage. That is the collection of tech data and articles for the newest deneration of Rangers. That's going to take a little bit of time.

I think advertising it in advance would help. The Toyota meet is semi annual here locally. They have it planned and advertised from the beginning of the year. Post it over all their Social Media every week to keep it in people's minds. They also have the local Toyota dealer set out some new models at the event which also advertises the event for them. I drove by last Saturday and there were like 70 rigs there. There was nothing but a coffee shop and a food truck. Tennessee Toyota had a booth selling merchandise and raffled off some hoodies and swag. Being here in my small town I was surprised to see such a big turn out.

We just had a local meet… 3 people showed up.

3 is good.

did a bunch of other people see you having fun in vehicles that are NOT Jeep’s or Toyotas?

Supporting members should get a ride In the damn helicopter -__-

More localized meets would be cool too.. just need willing participants and someone to organize. I would of absolutely been at aoaa.. but it was just too last minute for me.

There was a good number of people but not crowded. Bikes, Quads, Side by Sides, and Jeeps. Plus one Samurai.

We do.

And we even have a page on how to fix them.

I was a young kid, I remember the chat night in the YaBb days but never got brave enough to try it.

The regional get togethers will certainly help. AOAA was a first time as a "TRS event". So maybe it will grow if we keep doing it. It was a fun time and I think the 2011 could have done more than what we did but Snoranger showed up despite feeling like crap. So, I didn't push to try more. We were out on the trails for 5 or so hours and considering how he was feeling, it was good enough and I let it be.

I think you are doing great with the site Jim. As much as I love my 97, I do think that a shift in focus to the '19 + years will keep it relevant. The newest of the old style Rangers is pushing 13 years old and are starting to get scrapped.

Keep pressing vendors for new products for the newer trucks, keep engaging Ford for inside looks at new changes in the line up. I really did enjoy the Detroit Auto show in 2018 when they unveiled the new Ranger. Things like that.

I already posted dates for next years Fall Adventure and the Truck Nationals in Carlisle. I even sent a mass email out to all our registered members, but a bunch of them bounced back as not sent. I was going to resend it but didn’t want to annoy people with multiple emails. I'll probably send another one out in the spring.
