I have a 1996 Ford Ranger 2wd 2.3 with stock 14's. Will adding 235/75R15 be a problem with the gearing my rearend as far as to much for it? I know they will wfit did a 2" front level and 1 inch body lift just don't really want to change my gears. know the tires will affect speedo and what not but don't want to damage my rearend?

Thanks,
Jason

Nope, nothing to worry about. Thats how mine's setup, I just put on a 2 inch leveling kit, but I was fine without it

it won't damage the rear gears at all. but, you may experience a loss of power because the gears may not be correct for the larger tires. check your tag on the axle or on the door sticker to see what gears you have in it. hopefully it will be at least 3.73 or, even better, 4.10. with either of those you should do ok. good luck.

Same truck (though '97), tire and situation.

I have 3.73 gears. It's a little bit slower, but still fine. Speedo is off roughly 5mph @ 60ish. So add 5mph on the speedometer for your target speed and you should be golden.
