TRS Event 2025 Carlisle Ford Nationals

This one would look fantastic in my driveway. I love that green.
Yeah, he had a lift and the 35” Bronco Sasquatch Goodyears. Luckily he didn’t come back Saturday which increases my chances of winning something.

Looks like there was a pretty good ranger turn out this year.

Is the 2.2 Perkins guy a member or just some autistic rando with a rare ranger?

How's the camping with all the rain?

Last year at the Truck nationals we were at a bit of a low spot of the camp ground.

He knows about us and is here every year. His girlfriend owns the brown 5.0 Gen 1.

I’m at the Fairgrounds camping area and in my usual high spot, no issues other than the storm Friday bent my pop-up canopy.

As always the highlight for me, the Starsky & Hutch Torino Club.

They are good looking cars.

Guy I used to work with built one of those, couldn't guess if his was at the show or not. His car looked awesome, but he pissed me off when he talked about it. Another coworker of ours did the paint and body on it, he was top notch when it came to that stuff. Car owner wouldn't stop bad mouthing him about the stripes being off even though there were perfect. After that, the painter wouldn't touch another project like that. It was a side gig for him and no more than he made off the jobs it wasn't worth putting up with the crap.

Speaking of, how is the camping area? Do ther require tents and nice campers/rvs, or can someone show up with a custom, DIY built camper?

Doing a cargo trailer conversion toy hauler to pull behind my F-250 in the next year or so, but I don't think it's going to be usable with the Ranger. Too big to pull with the Ranger, but too small to put the Ranger inside of. I'm also thinking about something smaller, similar to a square drop, to mount on my 5x10 utility trailer and pull behind my Ranger when I want to take it to shows like this or other TRS events.

Unfortunately some campgrounds frown on or out right deny DIY campers of any type.

Lucky man! Wish I could find one like that. She doesn't have to have a 5.0L first gen, or even a Ranger, just into the hobby.

Brenda, fantastic gal, is a little squirt. She and her boyfriend Preston, and brother. (I think he was the other guy), built this absolutely awesome Ranger. I’m sure the guys did some of the work, but Brenda had this fantastic vision on what she wanted. When you see it up close, a lot of the decals like the Ford on the back tailgate, and the Ranger XLT on the side, were done in vinyl diamond plate. Sounds cheap, but looked absolutely fantastic.

When we were in the parade, coincidentally, she was next to me for the double lane part of it. I thought I had a loud airhorn, she had a train horn that blew my trailer off the ground! And when she stomped on the gas, the exhaust thunder made Lincoln crap a brick, no wait, a cinderblock! I bow down.

Preston had the primer gray first GEN diesel, which was incredibly awesome, but didn’t shine up to one of the lug nuts on Brenda’s truck. I suspect his love and support of Brenda, and her fantastic truck, well just let your mind run with that…..

The parade was an absolute blast. I had one of the little Mustang II cobra’s two cars in front of me, a 67 Shelby Mustang right in front of me. He had the absolute liquid red beaming paint job, trying to make my “rolled with1 a foam roller” rustoleum look bad, and 1200Hp Saleen right behind me. I warned the guy in the Saleen not to tailgate me: I didn’t want a scratch on my military hitch at the back. He wasn’t amused.

The parade ended up on Carlisle’s Main Street, where everybody parked nose-in at a 45° angle on both sides of the road. Not so much my rig. It was a fantastic block party. Lincoln was up on the high deck, growling and barking at everybody, and scary baby was a big hit with the women.

I’m thinking I’m finally starting to realize the Road Ranger is a little different than what people have seen, a steady stream of “did you build this?”…

I’ve never seen Lincoln so tired. I’m sure if I looked in the mirror I feel the same way, but there’s one more thing I want to say about this.

@JohnnyO did a fantastic job in representing TRS. He was there before dawn when people were checking in, and welcomed everybody on behalf of TRS. Remember, we we’re not in a “TRS“ section, it was the 2012 and earlier, and the ditto later or something like that. His blue STX was gleaming next to the tent, and he made everybody feel welcome as a part of TRS, even though it wasn’t “our” section. A few folks came up with questions about how to do this or that with the Ranger, and he directed them through all the assets in the website. Again, I bow down.

The only thing left is to see how the voting on the two categories comes out. I’m hoping they post it on the website, so I can head back to Atlanta, but I’m here until I find out either way.

Winners lists are posted at 9:00 am. I’m there now but I’m meeting my cousin for breakfast so unless they’re a little early I’m going to run out and come back.
